PENSACOLA, FL (August 26, 2026) – Play It Again Sports®, the leading family sporting goods resale concept, has announced the grand opening of its new location in Pensacola located at 6601 North Davis Highway. The brand provides athletes of every age a place to buy and sell their quality used sports and fitness equipment including football equipment, baseball gloves and bats, hockey gear, golf clubs, soccer gear, lacrosse equipment, treadmills, bikes, benches, weights and more.
A favorite among families, the new Play It Again Sports in Pensacola will buy, sell and trade quality used sports and fitness equipment. Meet the Owner
Pensacola native Kurtis Freeland grew up playing sports in the local community, with baseball being a particularly big part of his life. He played youth sports at Myrtle Grove before continuing to Catholic High School and Washington High School. Today, he enjoys watching his own children experience sports, participating in baseball, soccer, tumbling and more. With years of experience in retail and customer service, along with a lifelong connection to sports, opening Play It Again Sports was a natural fit when Kurtis decided it was time to start a business of his own. Kurtis and his wife, Cassandra, made the decision together to build a family-owned business around something they genuinely enjoy, while creating a place that could serve athletes and families in the community where they grew up.
“I grew up playing sports in Pensacola, so opening a sporting goods store here feels like a natural extension of something that has always been a part of my life,” said Kurtis Freeland, owner of Play It Again Sports Pensacola. “Now, as a parent watching my own kids play sports, I’ve seen firsthand how quickly equipment can be outgrown or replaced. I hope Play It Again Sports becomes a trusted resource for athletes, parents and families in the Pensacola community; a place where they can find great gear and get value for the equipment they no longer need.”
