QUE-TOWN BAR-B-QUE OPENS AT QUINCY MALL AS SECOND CULLINAN KICKSTART TENANT
(Peoria, IL – May 15, 2018) – Que-Town Bar-B-Que, located at Quincy Mall, fired up its smokers, opening last week. A locally sourced barbeque restaurant, Que-Town Bar-B-Que is the second small business to open at Quincy Mall through the Cullinan Kickstart program. It is located in the 5,300 square foot space between Kay Jewelers and The Children’s Place.
Que-Town Bar-B-Que features “real food, cooked real slow, with real wood” says owner David French. Menu items include ribs, pulled pork, beef brisket and chicken along with a variety of sauces and sides. The meats are slow cooked for up to 16 hours in state-of-the-art smokers and everything is made from scratch daily.
The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere and includes a bar area and stage for live music. The majority of the space is black and white, with pops of color coming from the food and the restaurant’s patrons.
“I owe this restaurant to my family and my friend, Jason” said French. “He asked me to participate in a BBQ competition at a local church. I had a $20 grill and knew I wasn’t going to win any competitions with that. I started looking into competition grills, and that’s where my passion started. Here I am now, living my dream with my own bar-b-que restaurant and Cullinan’s Kickstart program helped make that a reality.”

The Cullinan Kickstart program was created in June 2017 to help local entrepreneurs and small businesses overcome many of the start-up challenges involved in opening a new business.
